The exhibition house was partially privatised in June 2004 after 60 years.  Although the district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf has guaranteed the Haus am Waldsee a fixed grant within the scope of a five-year contract until 2009, all the exhibition and event budgets are currently financed with the aid of third party donations.

The Haus am Waldsee organises five exhibits annually in which hotly discussed works are introduced.  Artist lectures, guided tours, children’s art courses or culinary events with artists accompany all the exhibitions.

“House concerts” featuring international performers who also live in Berlin are a highlight of the annual programme.

At the Haus am Waldsee, the public comes into direct, individual contact with the artists and all those involved in the venue’s cultural events.  The former private villa, nestled in the midst of a generously landscaped lakeside park, invites you to linger at will.

We need collaboration partners who are interested in both innovative art and our unique approach to it in order to be able to build on our existing programme, which aims to display first-class artistic works, and to be able to satisfy international museum standards in future.
