With its diverse program and unique atmosphere, Haus am Waldsee is an exciting place, especially for children and teenagers. No matter if sculptures, video instalations or color compositions on canvas there are workshops for every exhibition where children playfully discover the open world of contemporary art made in Berlin.

Besides the regular workshops the Zinnowwald elementary school in Berlin-Zehlendorf is an important partner of the kids-programm of the Haus am Waldsee. Four times a year the students go on an exciting expedition through the current exhibitions. Corresponding to the general framework the artist are on site during the workshops. Later in class the students are deeply engaged with the art they have seen. Guided and supported by museum education personal and art teachers the students experiment with diverse forms of artistic expression. Every semester the students present their art works to the public in an exhibition organised by themselves.

 In doing so Haus am Waldsee supports the children´s developement of curiousity, sensibility and understanding of contemprary art. At the same time their imagination, creativity and tolerance for new ideas, are encouraged.
