Arriving by car
There is currently a construction site on Argentinische Allee. Please note the changed road layout and the current traffic signs. Due to the construction work, there are only a few parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. We recommend that you use public transport to get here.
For people with disabilities, there are two parking spaces on the left-hand side in front of the building entrance. You can park here during opening hours with appropriate proof. Access to the building is still possible despite the construction site.

Entrance & ticket office
The ticket office is located at the main entrance on the street side. From there, you can access the exhibition rooms.
Unfortunately, the entrance area in the front building is not wheelchair accessible. There is a staircase with five steps and a handrail on both sides. Alternatively, you can use the lift (see below for further information).

Access to the exhibition and event spaces
You can reach the exhibition via a lift located on the left side of the building. Please ring the bell at the lift so that our ticket office team can activate it. If you wish to use the lift or ask the ticket office team for assistance, you can also press the bell at the gate to the garden as soon as you enter the grounds. As the lift leads directly to the exhibition, you must ring the bell before using it for safety reasons. The lift provides access to both exhibition floors.

Wheelchair-accessible toilet
The wheelchair-accessible toilet in the basement can also be accessed via the lift. The lift door remains open automatically while you are in the toilet. This ensures your privacy – the lift remains locked for others.
Access to the café
You can reach the café via the door to the foyer. You can get there either via the main entrance or via the lift to the exhibition rooms. In the upper café area, you can order and pay at the counter. There are also a few seats there. Four steps lead to the garden room, where you will find more tables and seats. You can also enter the garden hall via a double door (width 120 cm) on the right-hand side of the building. If you find the door locked, please use the bell system in the lift. If you would like to use the lift or ask the cash desk team for assistance, you can also ring the bell directly at the gate to the garden.

Access to the sculpture park
To the left of the building, access to the rear part of the park is via a wide staircase or a grassy ramp. To the right, access is through the double doors of the garden hall (passage width 120 cm each). The paths in the rear part of the park slope down to the lake at varying degrees and lead over a few steps on the right-hand side.
Assistance dogs
Certified assistance dogs are welcome in the exhibition rooms. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Dogs are welcome in our sculpture park, provided they are kept on a leash.
To the right of the building, you will find a hook on the wall for leashing dogs and a water bowl.
Cloakroom
A cloakroom and lockers are located in the basement and can be reached via the stairs. If the basement is not accessible or difficult for you to access, you can leave your coat and valuables at the ticket office.

Prams
Please note that prams are not permitted in the exhibition. A baby carrier is available for you at our reception desk.
Changing table
Changing facilities are available in both public toilets in the basement.
Exhibition texts in simple language
Texts in simple language are available in German and English for each exhibition. These can be found in the entrance area of the exhibition rooms.
Access to our studio
Unfortunately, the studio is not wheelchair accessible and can only be reached via stairs. Please contact us if you are unable to access our programme of events under the given conditions. We will do our best to make your participation possible.
Admission – ‘Pay what you can’
Since 2023, Haus am Waldsee has been running a campaign to encourage people who find that they cannot afford the full admission price – i.e. who are ‘short of cash’ – to choose an amount between €0 and €9 instead of the regular admission price of €9/€6, without any red tape or proof of eligibility for a discount. ‘Pay what you can.’ At the same time, we encourage people who are in a better financial position – i.e. who are ‘well off’ – to pay a surcharge on top of the admission price in the form of a donation, so that people who are less well off can enjoy cheaper admission.
Low-stimulus visits outside opening hours
If you are interested in a low-stimulus visit on our closing day – usually Mondays from 11 am to 6 pm – please email us at info@hausamwaldsee.de or call us on 030 8018935.
Gender-neutral toilet
For structural reasons, there is currently no gender-neutral toilet available. We are working on a solution. If you would like to use a single-cubicle toilet, please contact the ticket office team and they will give you access to our separate barrier-free toilet.
Improvements
We are aware of the deficiencies regarding accessibility and are currently working on improvements.
Planned changes include:
· Wayfinding signage
· Automated café doors
· Acoustic announcements in the lift for people with visual impairments
· Improved entrance for wheelchair users
· Easy language texts on website
· Tactile guidance system for people with visual impairments
