Berta Fischer

Berta Fischer (*1973) works with those transparent materials that were first invented during Gabo‘s time in the 1920s. Fischer uses thermoplastic acrylic glass in various colours, thicknesses and sizes to enter into a subtle conversation about the nature of light. As a result, her works are reminiscent of luminous or reflective high-tech materials and virtual drawings which float in space in whirling motion. Beyond gravity, they lend visibility to the disorderly, chaotic and unpredictable. Her extensive ceiling work that was newly created for the exhibition, can be read as a universe, milky way or galaxy.
