Artist talk with Christiane Löhr

Katja Blomberg and Christiane Löhr approached the artist’s work through her biography. Löhr had already found her sculptural material many years before her studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. To this day, she is the only sculptor recognised in the art world who works exclusively with renewable materials such as grasses, burrs, tree blossoms as well as animal hair. The audience was given an insight into the preparations for the current exhibition as well as Löhr’s clear approach as an artist, who is concerned with space and time, construction and form in her sculptures. Clarity and brevity, the good flow of the talk and the subsequent discussion inspired listeners to take a new look at what is often overlooked in nature.
