Talk “Villa and Cottage Gardens in Berlin”

Talk “Villa and Cottage Gardens in Berlin”

Our new event room could barely fit all the interested visitors. Some listeners took a seat on the stairs and on the floor to hear Klaus von Krosigk’s lecture on cottage gardens in Berlin on the 23rd May 2019.

Almost 100 guests listened to the captivating talk of the former horticulture director of the Berlin Monument Authority. Without him, many of the century-old, artistically designed gardens would be completely overgrown and forgotten. He often “carefully removed trees” in order to build new perspectives based on historic plans and dimensions of the gardens he took care of. This way, von Krosigk has visibly improved the landscape design in Berlin over the past 30 years.

After the renovation and extension of our house, the listed villa garden by the Waldsee is now pursued to be rebuild. The inspiring talk has highlighted the context and outlined the goals. A great motivation for us to continue with the next step.
