A strong future for art and culture needs supporters
Cuts to Berlin’s cultural sector threaten the cultural diversity of our city and thus the heart of Berlin as a cultural metropolis. The abolition of free admission to museums on Sundays, which was hugely popular with us – as it was with many other exhibition venues – was one of the first visible cuts for our audience.
We are trying to counteract the loss of the free Museum Sundays with our Pay What You Can campaign, launched in 2023. With this campaign, we want to encourage people who find it difficult to afford exhibition admission to visit our museum anyway and pay an amount of their choice. No proof of eligibility for a discount is required. At the same time, we invite higher-earning visitors to support this solidarity offer with a donation.
In the future, we would like to continue to present a diverse range of exhibitions and events and remain a reliable meeting place for people, art and nature with our garden and café, and for this we are more dependent than ever on your support.
With your donation, we will be able to continue our work at the museum in as many different ways as possible and, together with you, initiate new thought processes.
We thank you and look forward to welcoming you back to Waldsee in the future.
We stand in solidarity with the demands of the action alliance #BerlinIstKultur against cuts to the cultural budget of the state of Berlin. Further information can be found here.
