Since its founding as an exhibition venue in 1946, Haus am Waldsee has occupied a firm place among Berlin’s contemporary art institutions. Its programme ranges from fine art, photography and architecture to performance art and film. In up to four exhibitions per year, as well as regular interventions in the garden – accompanied by concerts, readings and performances – central themes of our time are taken up, made accessible and negotiated with a broad audience.
As a place of artistic production, exhibition-making, art education and critical discourse, Haus am Waldsee offers artists a platform to open up new perspectives on pressing social issues in dialogue with the institution, its history, architecture and garden.
