How can delicate and vibrant colours be created from local plants, vegetables and spices? During the workshop, your group will become part of a creative process that begins with the joint production of plant-based dyes. These dyes will then be used to paint individually and collectively designed works of art.
The details of a blade of grass, the shadow cast by a tree or the vibrant colours of fresh vegetables – plants are a recurring subject and material in art, as well as a constant source of inspiration for artists. In several steps, we will experiment with plant dyes on different types of paper and try out both basic techniques and experimental forms of watercolour painting. Together, we will find inspiration in the garden of the house: nature becomes the starting point for figurative or abstract compositions. At the end, you will take home your own creations on high-quality watercolour paper.
If you wish, you can work as a team to create a joint work of art or, optionally, dye silk scarves with the plant colours. We are happy to cater to your individual wishes. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike.
