Book presentation with Annekathrin Kohout “Netzfeminismus”

In light of the new hygiene situation, we opened our new event space under the large hanging beech tree in the park on July 2 on the occasion of the lecture by Leipzig based cultural and media scientist Annekathrin Kohout. Under the obligatory spacing rules, fifty visitors listened to her very interesting remarks. Annekathrin Kohout went beyond her essay “Netzfeminismus” (Net feminism), published in 2019 by Wagenbach Verlag, and took the audience with her into her latest research on the subject. She visited blogs of net activists and artists and analysed the visual worlds under the keyword “empowerment”, which she contrasted with the term “provocation”. After the one-hour, very dynamic lecture, the follow-up discussions were accordingly both stimulating and contrasting.
