Artist Dinner with Johanna Diehl
During our lively artist dinner with Johanna Diehl, a long table led along the photo installation “Dead Dad Wild Country”. The guests sat between the two film works “Broken Repertoire” and “Mars”, which continued running throughout the dinner. Between the courses there was a stimulating conversation with the artist. Patiently and precisely, she gave answers to biographical background questions in particular, but also emphasized once again the artistic character of her research based on the silence of the post-war period. Before the aesthetic realization, countless selection decisions have to be made, which are the parameters for such a complex installation. After immersing in the artist’s specific approach, everyone reflected further on the often strained relationship between the generations after 1945.
